What SPF should I use and what does that mean in simple terms?
SPF stands for SunProtective Value and in the United States only a Federally Certified Laboratory can use "SPF+Number" in the advertising or on label.

Here is how much protection from the Sun, you get by SPF:

  • SPF   2 protects from 50%  
  • SPF   8 protects from 87.5%  
  • SPF 15 protects from 93.3%  
  • SPF 30 protects from 96.7%
